Man denies racially-aggravated assault
GoogleA 59-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to committing a racially aggravated assault, and other offences.
Benjamin Gray, from Eastville in Bristol, is alleged to have racially abused people and assaulted a woman on Cheltenham Road on 7 March.
He pleaded not guilty to assault by beating, using threatening, abusing and insulting language, and racially-aggravated common assault at City of London Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Gray will now stand trial at Inner London Crown Court on 23 April.
He is also due to appear at City of London Magistrates Court on 21 October after pleading not guilty to five public order offences.
These include racially and religiously-aggravated intentional harassment, using threatening, abusing and insulting words, and displaying threatening visible written representations likely to cause harassment.
