Police are asking for help, after they say a group of men assaulted another man and left him with a broken jaw.

A group of five or six men approached the victim on Parliament Street, in Gloucester, at about midnight on 21 December, according to police.

One of the men asked him for a cigarette and lighter, before assaulting him, police said. He was left with a broken jaw that required surgery, officers added.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows the men involved.
