Ugandan fans celebrate Coventry City's promotion
Coventry City Uganda Supporters Club/XCoventry City's Premier League promotion is being celebrated by a fan club based thousands of miles away from the city - in Uganda, Africa.
While thousands of fans celebrated with an open-top parade through the city last week, fans in Uganda took to supporting their team a different way.
The Coventry City Uganda Supporters Club filmed themselves singing club anthem Play Up Sky Blues as part of the ongoing celebrations.
Wearing their Sky Blues football T-shirts proudly, in the video the fans in Uganda stand around a table singing the anthem, which they then posted on X.
The video was met with a strong response from Sky Blues supporters in the UK, getting hundreds of likes, with many replying to the post to share their love for the team.
The team secured their promotion back to the Premier League after 25 years in April, followed by then winning the Championship title.
The passion for English clubs has spawned an entire industry in Uganda, with shops and vendors selling jerseys - and bigger companies targeting their advertising around the results.
