Four people have been found guilty of murder after a drug dispute led to the fatal shooting of a man.

Abdullah Hassan, 26, was shot in the thigh on 9 April 2023 on Callow Drive in Gleadless Valley in Sheffield and died from his injuries.

Mr Hassan had been involved in an argument with Demi Dunford over drug dealing in the weeks before his death, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Demi Dunford, 29, of Derby Street, Sheffield, Alex Taff, 31, of Derby Street, Andrew Horton, 47, Smelterwood Crescent and Osai Williams, 29, of East Glade Avenue, were convicted at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday.

According to officers, Dunford had been keen to prove her status following the dispute with Mr Hassan.

The gang had lured him from his flat and shot him as he left through the fire exit, police said.

The four fled the scene and in the following days, attempted to cover up their involvement.

Police used evidence from CCTV, forensics, mobile phone data, and ballistic reports to identify those involved.

Det Ch Insp Andy Knowles said: "After a lengthy investigation, justice has been secured for Abdullah, and our thoughts remain with all who loved him.

"Gun crime and drugs are inseparably linked, with disputes over supply, territory, and profit often spiralling into violence, and in this case, murder.

"This dangerous connection does not only affect those directly involved, it creates volatile situations where innocent people can tragically be caught in the crossfire."

All five are due to be sentenced on 16 January.
