Arrest after man dies in suspected hit-and-run

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian died in a suspected hit-and-run in an Oxfordshire village.

The man in his 20s, was found on Grove Road, in Bladon, outside The White House community pub on Saturday at about 03:00 GMT. He died at the scene.

Thames Valley Police said a 65-year-old man from Stroud, Gloucestershire, had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He remains in police custody.

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage are being urged to contact the force.
