Darren Arnold says the charity has held off increasing prices for "as long as possible"

One of Jersey's charity shops says it will put up its prices in response to rising costs.

Acorn Enterprises, in Trinity, said the cost of men's and ladies' clothing, which was not individually priced, would rise from £3 an item to £4 from 16 February.

Acorn's commercial manager, Darren Arnold, said: "We have held off as long as possible, but it is now necessary due to rising operating costs and higher transport and logistics costs for donations and collections."

He thanked customers for enabling the charity to fund "life-changing opportunities" for islanders with disabilities or long-term health conditions, who the charity trains and employs.
