Rapist jailed for 15 years after string of attacks

A rapist who attacked a woman on a string of occasions has been jailed for 15 years and eight months.

According to South Yorkshire Police, David Nistor, 26, was arrested in June 2025, on the same day his victim reported him to police.

The victim disclosed Nistor, who is from Barnsley, had raped her that day as well as on previous occasions.

Nistor, who pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, denied seven counts of rape but was found guilty by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday.

Det Con Rosie Allott, the officer in charge of the case, said: "The victim's bravery in reporting Nistor's disgusting crimes helped to ensure that justice was done.

"I am glad that Nistor has been jailed and will not be able to do further harm during his long years behind bars."

Allott said officers had "acted quickly" to arrest Nistor on the day that his offences were reported, adding: "I hope that this case encourages other victims of sexual offences to report to us."
