An "Aladdin's cave" of suspected stolen plant machinery has been recovered by police.

Warwickshire Police said its rural crime team discovered the haul when they attended a derelict pub alongside officers from Northamptonshire Police.

Plant machinery, including bowsers and trailers, were found to be have been deliberately concealed from view behind the premises, the force said.

All items were recovered and inquiries were ongoing to reunite the items with its rightful owners.

A spokesperson, who did not specify the location of the haul, urged businesses and contractors to protect their equipment.

This could include removing keys when not in use, using locks and wheel clamps, and storing trailers in secure and well-lit locations.
