Syed Zain Ali died in hospital on 24 September, days after being shot

Police investigating the murder of two men in Wolverhampton have charged a man with assisting an offender.

Duaine Mills, 28, and Syed Zain Ali, 32, were shot in Leicester Street during the early hours of 19 September.

Mohammed Maneer Khan has been charged with their murders, and is also accused of attempted murder and two firearms offences.

West Midlands Police said Samir Patel, 42, was arrested in Walsall on Wednesday and was due before magistrates in Wolverhampton on Thursday.

A second man, Yaseen Patel, 34, from Birmingham, has previously been charged with assisting an offender.

He appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier this month alongside Khan, from Walsall, where they both denied the charges they were facing.

The pair are due to stand trial at the same court in July.
