Plans for a rooftop bar in Nottingham city centre have been given the go-ahead.

Nottingham City Council has approved a planning application from Conygar to install a bar on the Cleaver and Wake rooftop terrace in the Island Quarter area.

According to the developer, the proposed bar would be the "highest rooftop venue in the city".

Conygar added the proposed venue had an operating licence from 10:00 to 22:00.

Planning documents submitted by the applicant state the proposed bar would have a capacity of 110 people.

Chris Ware, managing director at Conygar, said: "This approval marks an exciting new chapter for 1 The Island Quarter and emphasises our continued commitment to evolving The Island Quarter into a space to live, work and play.

"This will be the highest rooftop venue in the city and will offer panoramic views across the skyline from day to night."
