Sting among Isle of Wight Festival headliners

Sting, Justin Timberlake and Stereophonics have been unveiled as the headliners for next year's Isle of Wight festival.

The event will run from 19 - 22 June at Seaclose Park in Newport.

English electronic groups Faithless and Clean Bandit, Irish rock band The Script and US singer-songwriter Teddy Swims have also announced in the line-up.

Former Police frontman Sting will perform on the Friday night as part of his world tour.

The 72-year-old, known for hits including Every Breath You Take and Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, will then head to Latitude festival in Suffolk the following weekend where he will also top the bill.

Isle of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings said: "This first announcement spans global music icons to the freshest new talent and we have many more names to come."

Welsh rockers Stereophonics will headline on the Saturday having previously taken to the festival's main stage in 2004, 2016 and in 2022.

Justin Timberlake will bring the show to a close on the Sunday evening.

The pop superstar, whose hits include My Love, Rock your Body and Mirrors, pleaded guilty to impaired driving earlier this month following his arrest in June in New York's Hamptons on a drink-driving charge.

He was required to make a public safety announcement, warning the public about using alcohol and driving as part of his plea.

British rapper Example, former The Beautiful South singer Paul Heaton, former Yazoo member Alison Moyet and singer Olly Murs were also announced in the Isle of Wight Festival line-up.

As were The Lathums, Texas, The Lottery Winners and James.
