Firefighters tackle large blaze in industrial units
James WilkinsScores of firefighters have been tackling a large blaze on an industrial estate.
Crews were called to Commercial Street in Pontllanfraith, near Blackwood in Caerphilly county on Monday evening.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a "large" number of appliances and emergency vehicles attended the incident and some crews remained on scene on Tuesday morning, but the response had been "scaled back".
They urged people to avoid the area where possible to "help ensure crews can work safely and allow emergency access routes to remain clear".
Residents were also urged to keep windows and doors closed due to the large amount of smoke in the area.
James WilkinsStagecoach Wales said the 151 service was currently unable to serve between Blackwood and Pontllanfraith until further notice, due to a road closure.
James Wilkins, 32, a local resident, said he noticed the fire at about 18:30 GMT while passing through the village.
"Absolutely devastating. This is a complete shock to the village and I feel for the owners and the workers this will affect by the loss of business in the area," he said.
