City route reopens following crash

Abbey Park Road was closed to traffic and pedestrians at about 06:00 GMT

A main road in Leicester was closed through the morning rush hour after a crash.

Abbey Park Road was shut shortly after 06:00 GMT on Wednesday between the junctions of Belgrave Circle and the A6 Abbey Lane.

While the road was closed to both traffic and pedestrians, police advised people to use alternate routes before the route was reopened at about 09:00.

There are currently no more details of the collision or any injuries.
