Microscopic animal art to go on display

An exhibition of microscopic animals, so small that they fit in the eye of a needle, is to go on display in Wolverhampton.

The Smallest Zoo in the World will take over the Change Makers Hub at Wolverhampton Railway Station from 22 March until 8 April.

The artwork has been created by David A Lindon, who specialises in the tiny creations.

Mr Lindon has previously created replicas of famous paintings, such as Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night and Edward Munch's The Scream, all within the eye of needles.

The Smallest Zoo in the World exhibition contains 24 handmade microscopic animals, alongside six challenge towers to test if visitors have some of the skills needed to become a micro artist.

The animals will be viewed through microscopes and visitors can watch and hear how Mr Lindon slows his movements and reduces his heartbeat so he can create artwork between the beats of his heart.

The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday 09:00-18:00 GMT and Sunday 10:00-17:00.
