Proposals to lower the spending limits are expected to go before the States later this year

Guernsey's next general election will be held on Wednesday 18 June 2025.

Deputies agreed the date, along with the spending limits for candidates.

Individuals can spend up to £6,000, while political parties have a limit of £12,000.

However, the States Assembly and Constitution Committee is expected to propose lowering that cap later this year.

States members also agreed to scrap a £500 grant for candidates to use for their election campaigns.

The next election will be the second time voters will elect all 38 deputies on an island-wide basis.
