Marathon bell ringers hope for world first

Oliver BrockThree Guernsey church bell ringers have completed a feat they believe could be a world first.
The bell ringers at Town Church in St Peter Port rang three bells 10,000 times over four hours and 40 minutes.
Bell ringer Donny Brock, who came up with the idea said he was checking the achievement with the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers.
He believed it was a first using a particular method of bell ringing known as long length singles.
Mr Brock, who rang the bells on 12 July with Duncan Loweth and Joseph Blake, said after the attempt: "It felt very good to achieve it but I had some awful blisters and everyone had sore hands."
