Nurse helped biker who felt fine after crash

An off-duty nurse managed to help a motorcyclist who thought he was unscathed after falling off his motorbike.

Elise Le Breton was having lunch in St Peter Port last month when she saw Tim Booth collapse on a nearby counter.

Speaking to BBC Radio Guernsey, she said she "jumped up and went over to him," calling for an ambulance and ensuring Booth went to hospital.

It was only later the motorcyclist learned "a pint of blood" had built up in his leg, having fallen off his bike that morning.

Booth said he initially felt fine after the crash, but started to feel "sweaty and a bit dizzy" over lunch.

He said it was "very good of Elise" to make sure he went to hospital, adding: "I spent a few hours in the hospital and they put me on a drip and sorted me out and sent me home.

"All was good to go but it could have been an awful lot worse because of the bleeding in my leg."

Le Breton said: "I think all nurses, if anything happens outside of work you just naturally step in. And that was one of those times."
