A man in his 50s has died after a car crashed into a hedge and caught fire.

Police were called to Husborne Crawley, near Woburn, Bedfordshire, on Saturday at about 20:00 GMT after the crash involving a silver VW Polo.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene on Ridgmont Road and his family has been informed.

Det Con Felicity Walker from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said it was not yet clear how the victim's car left the road and she appealed for witnesses.
