Murder charge after woman found dead on Christmas day
BBCA woman has appeared in court accused of murdering a pensioner on Christmas Day.
Stefania Glowka, 63, appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court earlier accused of killing Tamara Glowka, who was in her 80s.
Police were called to reports of a serious assault at 8:10 GMT on 25 December at a flat in Keepers Road in Devizes, Wiltshire. Tamara Glowka was later declared dead at the scene.
A preliminary post-mortem examination has been carried out, but further tests are needed to establish the cause of death and formal identification of the victim has yet to take place, Wiltshire Police added.
Ms Glowka was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday. Tamara Glowka was identified from publicly available court papers.
A cordon set up at the address has now been lifted.
