Rail services disrupted after car hit by train
BBCTrain services were disrupted after a car was struck by a train on a level crossing in Derbyshire.
Network Rail was informed of a crash between Uttoxeter and Derby at 16:39 GMT on Friday.
East Midlands Railway (EMR) confirmed the location as the Willington Level Crossing near Repton.
The closure meant trains between Stoke-on-Trent and Derby were cancelled, delayed by more than 60 minutes, or revised, but the line reopened at about 19:00.
Network Rail said it had attended alongside emergency services and an investigation was under way.
A spokesperson for EMR said: "The line has now reopened between Uttoxeter and Derby and our services can start to run again.
"However, they will be subject to delays of up to 60 minutes and short notice alterations whilst we work to restore our timetable."
There are currently no reports of any injuries.
