Reward launched following Tottenham fatal shooting
Met PoliceA £20,000 reward has been offered for information after a 22-year-old man was fatally shot in north London in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.
Mahad Abdi Mohammed was shot in the head on Waverley Road, Tottenham on 20 March at 20:45 GMT. His friend, 26, was shot in the leg and treated for the non-life-changing wound.
The Metropolitan Police has released the images of two people officers wish to speak to in connection to the incident.
Mr Mohammed's youngest sister said: "If you know something and you haven't come forward, please think about that. Think about a family that cannot begin to heal because the truth is still hiding in the shadows. My brother deserves better."
Met PoliceOn the night of the shooting, Mr Mohammed and his friend were breaking their fast outside when a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander approached and the suspects opened fire, striking the pair multiple times, the Met said.
This car was used to drive the suspects to and from the scene and was found burnt-out the following morning.
Detectives believe a stolen blue Jaguar transported the suspects to and from the Mitsubishi used in the shooting.
It is thought by the force that whoever killed Mr Mohammed set out to hurt someone else in a pre-planned, targeted attack.
Met PoliceDet Ch Insp Rebecca Woodsford said: "Tottenham's tight knit community has experienced the heartbreaking impact of gun crime.
"There is someone out there who knows what happened that night and we are urging those individuals to find it in their heart to come forward.
"No matter how small you think the information is, please speak to us. It could be exactly what we need to locate those responsible."
Crimestoppers is offering the reward for any information which the charity exclusively receives and leads to the conviction of those responsible.
Mr Mohammed's sister said her brother, who had a son, deserved justice.
"To stay silent is to be complicit," she said. "To stay silent is to let a grieving mother suffer in confusion. To stay silent is to let a little boy grow up not knowing what happened to his father."
Four men were arrested on suspicion of murder in March and April. They were questioned and released on bail pending further investigations.
The police investigation continues.
