Man dies at scene after one-vehicle crash on A75

A driver has died after a one-vehicle crash on the A75 near Dumfries.

Police said the incident, which involved a BMW X5, happened at the Glen about 12:50 on Friday.

The 54-year-old man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers closed the road for more than eight hours to allow investigations to be carried out.

Sgt Colin Ramage said inquiries were ongoing and appealed for anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
