Three men then jumped out of the car and robbed the teenager of £120. During the incident, the boy was stabbed twice.
The offenders left the scene in the car, police said.
The 15-year-old was rushed to hospital where he had emergency surgery.
The offenders were identified following an investigation led by Detective Constable Marie-Louise Knight.
Speaking after the sentencing hearing, Knight said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a young boy who was left with serious injuries which required extensive hospital treatment.
"I am grateful that they have now faced justice for their actions - not only for ourselves from an investigation side, but also for the victim and his family who were left shaken following this incident."
