Major rail disruption between London and Luton
PA MediaDamaged electrical wires are causing major disruption on rail services between London St Pancras and Luton Airport Parkway.
ThamesLink said the damage to overhead wires at Elstree & Borehamwood railway station in Hertfordshire meant some services would be cancelled and others delayed by up to 30 minutes.
The issue has been affecting the London St Pancras International- Nottingham-Sheffield and the London St Pancras International-Luton Airport Parkway-Corby routes.
Disruption was expected until the end of the day, the rail operator said.
East Midlands Railway services are also affected by the problem, which Network Rail was investigating.
Tickets can be used on East Midlands Railway, which is looking to stop Intercity services at Luton Airport Parkway, Bedford and Wellingborough.
East Midlands Railway will also run a shuttle service between Kettering and Corby in both directions. Passengers can change at Kettering for connections to the south.
Those travelling to Sheffield, Chesterfield and Derby, Nottingham and Leicester can also access alternative travel arrangements.
Full details of alternative routes are available on the ThamesLink website.
