Two arrested after suspected pink cocaine seized

Two men have been arrested after patrolling police officers found large amounts of what is believed to be pink cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and ketamine.

Merseyside Police said a suspected drugs deal involving three men was spotted at 21:20 GMT on Wednesday on Ayrshire Road in the Anfield area of Liverpool. Two of them were followed after they got into a van.

Officers stopped the van and arrested two men - one aged 31 and from West Derby, the other 36 and from Bootle - on suspicion of drug offences after finding cash and blue tablets thought to be Class A drugs.

White, pink and brown powder in bags, along with white rocks, eight mobile phones, cash and drug paraphernalia were then found in Anfield.

An electric bike and an electric scooter were also seized during searches, said Merseyside Police.

The men are being held on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled Class A and B drugs and acquire/use/possess criminal property.

Insp Chris Taylor said: "Thanks to this proactive policing work a significant quantity of drugs have been removed from our streets, estimated to be around 2kg (4.4lb) of ketamine, 2kg of heroin, 2kg of cocaine and about half a kilo of pink cocaine."
