Man airlifted to hospital after crash on Lewis

A man has been taken to hospital after a serious crash involving a quad bike on Lewis on Thursday.

It happened on a single track road between Berie Farmhouse and the Reef junction in Uig at 20:45.

A 45-year-old man was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
