Anna Stukova was found guilty of 13 offences after a trial

A woman who was convicted of modern slavery offences after forcing her victim to carry out sex work and steal from shops has been jailed.

Anna Stukova, 30, was previously found guilty of 13 offences following what police described as a "campaign of exploitation" against another woman.

Between January 2023 and November 2024, she also stole from the victim, "beat her up" on several occasions, told her she would kill her and threatened her with a bladed object, Staffordshire Police said.

Stukova, from Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, was sentenced to 11 years in prison at the city's crown court on Monday.

She was also issued with a restraining order, an indefinite sex offender notification requirement and a 15-year slavery and trafficking protection order, preventing her from entering an area of Hanley and Cobridge.

She was found guilty of:

  • Two counts of requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour
  • Causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent
  • Threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place
  • Two counts of assault by beating
  • Two counts of assaulting a person, occasioning actual bodily harm
  • Three counts of intimidating a witness or juror
  • Two counts of theft

Stukova also pleaded guilty to an additional count of burglary during a hearing before the trial.

Det Con Jennie Holland of Staffordshire Police said: "The victim in this case, who was targeted because she was vulnerable, has shown immense bravery in supporting our investigation and we remain dedicated to protecting others like her in our communities."
