Driver dies in collision with lorry on major road

The driver of a car has died following a collision with a lorry on a major route between Oxford and Swindon.

Thames Valley Police said it had received reports of the collision on the A420 at the Pusey turning, near Buckland in Oxfordshire, just after 09:30 GMT on Monday.

It said the driver of a brown Subaru, a man in his 60s, had died at the scene.

The force said no arrests had been made and that the family of the man who died had been informed and was being supported by specialist officers.

On Monday, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service posted on Facebook that the A420 road was closed at the Pusey turning, asking drivers to avoid the area until further notice.
