Woman hurt after falling through Blackpool Central Pier

A woman has been taken to hospital after she fell through a section of Blackpool Central Pier, police have said.

Lancashire Police said it received a report of the woman falling through a section of the pier at about 16:30 BST.

Police said the woman was injured in the incident. It is not known how serious her injuries were.

The pier is currently closed, police added. The Blackpool Pier Company, which runs Central Pier, has been contacted for comment.
