A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape after a woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint earlier this week, according to police.

The teenager is being held in police custody in relation to the assault in Leeds on Monday.

The woman was attacked in Belle Isle after being approached by four masked males on electric bikes at about 10:50 GMT, West Yorkshire Police said.

According to the force, she was walking along a pathway between Old Run View and West Grange Road when she was attacked by the group, who were wearing black clothing and black balaclavas.

Officers have increased patrols in the area in an attempt to reassure residents.
