Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident at a hospital site involving three members of security staff and a patient.

West Yorkshire Police said the patient had reportedly been assaulted at a site operated by Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust on the evening of Thursday 19 February.

The force said the three men had since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for the Trust confirmed the incident but said they were unable to provide further comment.

Chris Evans, Deputy Chief Executive, at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said: "I can confirm that an incident took place between a patient and members of our security team at the end of last week.

"This has now become the subject of an ongoing police matter and we are therefore unable to comment any further."
