VE Day 80 in pictures - Hampshire and Isle of Wight
Southampton City CouncilVE Day celebrations came to a close across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight on Thursday with beacon lighting ceremonies across the two counties.
Scores of memorial services were held and a two-minute silence at midday marked 80 years since the end of World War Two in Europe.
Hundreds of people also turned out for parades, afternoon teas and concerts during the day of festivities.
In Southampton, the lord mayor hosted afternoon tea in the Civic Centre and in Bishop's Waltham, revellers armed with camping chairs and picnics filled the palace ruins for the beacon lighting ceremony.
