Woman dies after being hit by car

A woman has died after being hit by a car near Huddersfield, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Officers said they were called to Plover Road in Lindley at about 11:55 GMT, where a BMW had collided with the woman before crashing into a wall.

The woman, in her 70s, died at the scene, while the driver of the BMW, a 76-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police appealed for witnesses, or anyone with footage of the collision, which happened at the junction with Cadogan Avenue, to get in touch.
