The Mountain Road is closed for TT preparation works

A major route linking Douglas with the north of the Isle of Man has closed for preparation works ahead of the TT.

In place until 15:30 BST on 17 April, the A18 Mountain Road will be shut from Creg ny Baa to the Bungalow, and the Bungalow to Ramsey.

Works include the installation of poles and signs related to the TT one-way system, race safety equipment, marshalling posts, and the painting of bridges and curbs.

The closure will also see the reconstruction of damaged roadside walls at the gooseneck and Ramsey Hairpin, and tree felling.

Gully maintenance, verge cutting, resurfacing, and surface patch works will also be carried out.

The road between the Bungalow Bridge and the Victory Cafe will be left open to maintain access to Snaefell Mountain Railway, as well as Snaefell Summit Cafe and Victory Cafe.

Access to Creg Ny Baa will be maintained from Douglas and Laxey.

But the Beinn Y Phott Road junction will not be available.
