Passengers trying to travel between Wolverhampton and Stafford have faced severe delays and cancellations

Rail passengers have faced major delays after all lines between Wolverhampton and Stafford were closed.

Train services running between the two sites were cancelled on Monday morning due to a police incident at Penkridge station.

British Transport Police officers were called to the scene at 11:00 BST and National Rail warned that major delays were expected to continue until 16:00 BST.

Crosscountry, Avanti West Coast, and London Northwestern Railway services have been affected by the disruption, with rail replacement buses set up to shuttle between Wolverhampton and Stafford.
