Former policeman arrested over alleged serious sexual offences

A former police officer has been arrested on suspicion of non-recent sexual offences.

The arrest was made on Wednesday following an investigation from the Police Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman said the offences are alleged to have been committed while the man was on-duty and a serving police officer.

These include misconduct in public office as well as a number of serious sexual offences.
