Four people have been arrested and charged after police seized drugs worth more than £500,000 in Greenock.

Officers recovered the drugs - described as a large quantity of cocaine and ecstasy with a street value of £503,000 - at an address on Forsyth Street on Thursday.

A six-figure sum of money was also recovered.

Two men, aged 43 and 22, and two women, aged 43 and 18, were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court later.

Det Supt Steven Elliott said: "This significant recovery highlights our ongoing efforts to rid our communities of dangerous and illegal drugs.

"This seizure also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy."
