Weekend road closure for major junction
BBCA major junction is closing over the weekend for carriageway resurfacing and maintenance work.
Oxfordshire County Council and highway contractor M Group are shutting the A34/A4130 Milton Interchange, near Didcot, from 20:00 GMT on Friday until 05:00 GMT on Monday.
The work will include kerb and drainage maintenance, ironwork adjustments, resurfacing of the existing carriageway and the reinstatement of road markings.
Andrew Gant, cabinet member for transport management, said it was "essential to maintaining the safety and long term condition" of the "busy strategic junction".
"By carrying it out over a single weekend with a full closure, we can complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible while reducing overall disruption," he said.
The entire Milton Interchange will be closed, including all A4130 approaches and exits towards Didcot and Steventon.
A fully-signed local diversion route will be in place and temporary three‑way traffic signals will operate on the A4130 to maintain vehicle access between Didcot, Milton Gate and the services area.
Access to Milton Park business park will be available using alternative routes through Milton village, Sutton Courtenay or from Didcot to the eastern end of Park Drive.
Pedestrian access and bus routes will also be affected.
The closure is subject to weather conditions and any other unforeseen circumstances, the council said.
