Man dies in crash involving car and lorry
BBCA man has died in a crash between a car and a van in the early hours.
Officers were called to reports of a serious collision on the A500, near to junction 16 in Newcastle-under-Lyme at 04:35 GMT on Saturday. It involved a grey Jaguar and white MAN lorry, said Staffordshire Police.
"The driver of the car, a man, sadly died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers," said the force, which has appealed for witnesses.
National Highways said the southbound carriageway between the M6 and A34 was closed earlier for investigations, but had since reopened.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators," a police spokesperson added.
