Rapist who attacked two women jailed for 26 years
Cambridgeshire PoliceA man has been jailed for 26 years after he was found guilty of raping two women.
Police said Wayne Lightfoot, from Peterborough, forced himself upon a woman despite being told "no" on 4 September 2022.
On 26 August last year, Lightfoot then went on a date with another victim before going back to his house in Hampton Hargate. She said she wanted to leave but he violently assaulted her, took her phone away and raped her, police explained.
The 36-year-old was convicted of three counts of rape and seven of sexual assault after a trial at Peterborough Crown Court.
On Friday, at the same court, he was also sentenced for carrying out false imprisonment, and was handed an indefinite restraining order and sexual harm prevention order.
Det Con Kara Halls, from Cambridgeshire Police, praised the victims for their "incredible courage".
"It is thanks to their bravery Lightfoot's predatory behaviour has been exposed," she said.
