A man has been charged seven months after a cyclist was pushed off a seawall and suffered multiple injuries in a fall on to the beach below.

The woman, in her 60s, who had been cycling along Culver Parade in Sandown Isle of Wight plunged off the wall on 5 August at about 15:10 BST.

She was treated in hospital for injuries to her head, legs and face, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said.

The force said Daniel Dickons, 39, of Avenue Road, Sandown, had been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been bailed with conditions to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on 7 April.
