Temporary restrictions on hospital visits introduced in Lerwick
BBCAn increase in cases of respiratory illness has led to a restriction on visitors to a ward at Gilbert Bain Hospital in Shetland.
A spokesperson for NHS Shetland said there had been a "high volume" of cases and visiting to ward one had been restricted as a result.
The surgical ward will continue to welcome essential visitors, for compassionate and care giving reasons. They will be asked to wear personal protective equipment.
It is the third time temporary restrictions have been introduced at Gilbert Bain Hospital this winter because of respiratory illness.
All visitors have been urged to avoid the site if they have cold or flu-like symptoms.
Restrictions on visitors to ward three (medical) were lifted on Thursday.
