Pair deny further charges after baby's death
GoogleA man and woman accused of murder after the death of a baby have appeared in court to deny further charges.
One-year-old Isabella Stasiak died in hospital on 7 January after being taken ill at a house in Rugby, Warwickshire.
Michal Stasiak, 26, of Blackwood Avenue, and 24-year-old Kinga Wydrzynska, of Johnson Avenue, in Rugby, were initially charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a baby in January 2025.
Appearing at Warwick Crown Court on Friday, the pair denied additional charges of two counts of sexual assault by penetration, Warwickshire Police said.
The pair also pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault, ill-treatment, neglect, abandonment of a child or young person, to cause unnecessary suffering or injury - against three children.
Stasiak previously admitted two counts of possessing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.
The pair appeared at Warwick Crown Court for a procedural hearing to allow all counts to be joined at the same trial.
They were were both remanded in custody ahead of a trial at the same court on 6 October.
