In pictures: Curlers make most of freezing weather

Members of Muir of Ord Curling Club have been among those enjoying the wintry weather.

Temperatures over the past few days in the Highlands have dropped to -10C.

The conditions have allowed the club to open its outdoor rink and hold a bonspiel - a curling tournament - over the weekend.

Spokesman Finlay Mackenzie said: "We had over 50 people playing this weekend and if the cold weather continues we hope to have a few more matches."

Mr Mackenzie added: "Our rink is one of the few outdoor curling venues left in the Highlands.

"It was brilliant to see so many people enjoying themselves."
