Wherever you work, whether that's in the public sector, manufacturing or services, there is an increasing focus on boosting productivity – improving efficiency.

And while on the factory floor this may seem as simple as installing more, smarter machines, higher productivity from humans working in an office can be a lot more complicated. But a host of firms are promising that new technology can help us work more effectively.

As part of the Future of Work series, BBC technology reporter, Rory Cellan-Jones, tries to work out how to be more productive.
