The remote island of nest gatherers

On the islands of Pabellon in the Philippines, the dangerous art of harvesting bird nests has endured for generations. The nest gatherers, known as 'busyadores', risk their lives climbing 100ft (30m) tall caves with just their bare hands and feet. Nest gathering accounts for a good part of the island’s economy. The nests are sold for approximately $2,300 per kilo.
