Footage of Withernsea sea rescue bid emerges

The RNLI has released footage of a major search and rescue operation off the East Yorkshire coast.

The footage, which was given to the charity by an observer, shows the conditions facing the crew at Withernsea on 2 January as a lifeboat was launched following reports of people in the water.

Mother and daughter, Sarah Keeling, 45, and Grace Keeling, 15, entered the water that afternoon. Sarah's body was recovered later that evening, but Grace is still missing.

Passer-by Mark Ratcliffe, 67, who attempted to save the pair, also died.

An inquest into the deaths of Sarah Keeling and Mark Ratcliffe opened on Monday and has been adjourned to a later date.
