In the latest incidents of vandalism, signs were removed and discarded in bushes at 18 car parks across the forest

A man has been arrested after signs were damaged in the Ashdown Forest, police say.

Sussex Police said a man, 56, was arrested on 19 October on suspicion of criminal damage, after reports a sign was pulled off its posts and thrown into bushes a week earlier.

The man has since been bailed.

The forest is famously the inspiration for AA Milne's Winnie the Pooh books and is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
