Ashdown Forest: Arrest after signs vandalised
Ashdown Forest/Horizon ParkingA man has been arrested after signs were damaged in the Ashdown Forest, police say.
Sussex Police said a man, 56, was arrested on 19 October on suspicion of criminal damage, after reports a sign was pulled off its posts and thrown into bushes a week earlier.
A number of reports of damage to signs were made after Ashdown Forest introduced new parking charges in November 2022.
The man has since been bailed.
The forest is famously the inspiration for AA Milne's Winnie the Pooh books and is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
