Child abduction alert after Manchester firework display

Police investigating reports a girl was abducted at a fireworks display say they have found nothing suspicious.

Officers searched hundreds of cars as thousands of people left the bonfire event in Heaton Park, Manchester.

The searches followed reports that a girl had gone missing, at about 21:15 GMT on Sunday.

A force spokesman said later the searches did not turn up anything suspicious and that there had been no reports by a family missing a child.
