Notting Hill Carnival: Silence held for Grenfell victims

Some people wore green as a tribute to the victims of the Grenfell Tower blaze

Music and dancing came to a stop at the Notting Hill Carnival to remember the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

A 72-second silence was held at the west London event at 15:00 BST as a tribute to the people who died at the block, which is close to the parade.

Some people wore green to remember those who died during the blaze.

Police have again imposed a Section 60 order giving them extra stop-and-search powers until midnight across the area.

Scotland Yard said 133 people had been arrested for various offences on Sunday and 20 weapons were seized.

While festivities on Family Day were hit by heavy rain, the weather stayed dry for Monday's main parade.

Revellers danced away at the various sounds systems and live stages without the need of an umbrella unlike the day before.
